These couplings are designed to provide a safe way to transfer gas without sacrificing flow. It flows both directions and protects against expensive loss of product or equipment damage if a pull-away occurs during the transfer operation. In the event of an excessive amount of pull force, the coupling will break away and immediately shut off flow in both directions.

To reconnect the valve, pressure needs to be relieved on both ends of the line, therefore, it is recommended that a safe way to bleed down the line is provided upstream and downstream. After reconnection the line must be tested for leaks before the transfer continues. The coupling can be used on gas or liquid lines for transport, delivery trucks, motor fuel containers, fill cabinets and other filling operations.

Note: It is recommended that these couplings be tested once a month to confirm that proper separation
occurs during transfer in the event of a pull-away. Dry air is suggested for this testing.
